Accounts Manager

This client is looking for a qualified accountant with Lloyd's market experience to join their business as an Accounts Manager to ensure that a quality accounting service is provided to the business and Limited Liability Partnership clients as well as managing a high performing and effective Accounts team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accounting records for Lloyd's Corporate Members, the business and Limited Liability Partnerships.
  • Providing a service to clients with more complex structures, including holding companies.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the Accounts and ensure that timetables are met.
  • Managing the Corporate Accountants
  • Assisting the Finance Director with the preparation of the quarterly and annual accounts for all associated companies.
  • Liaising with the auditors and dealing with client queries.
  • Completion of Syndicate UK Tax Case/Computations for the business.
  • Providing ad-hoc accounting information and undertaking any related duties as may be reasonably required.
  • Development of the accounting functions within the business.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Relevant qualification (ACA, ACCA) with appropriate PQ experience.
  • Technical Accounting Knowledge relating to insurance accounting systems and practice
  • Good understanding of the UK GAAP, IFRS, and accounting Lloyd's entities.
  • Ability to represent the Company and act in a confident manner.
  • Accuracy and numeracy.
  • Deal competently with time scales with ability to prioritise workload.
  • Competent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • An effective team leader/good people management skills.
  • Competent in use of standard office IT applications and tax software.
