A FTSE250 challenger bank is looking for a bright graduate to join their London office as an assistant accountant.

They are looking for an aspiring accountant who wants to lay the foundations in their accounting career, as this role will give you the exposure to see the across the entire finance function. They are looking for someone who shows a solid interest in completing an accounting qualification. They will provide study support towards ACCA or CIMA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing month end journals, which will be reviewed by the finance manager and the backup for these journals. You will also be responsible for bank reconciliations, intercompany recharges, preparing the finance report which is sent to the board. You will get the opportunity to see an element of tax by preparing VAT returns. Also the team you will be joining manage statutory and regulatory reporting for the company, so you will be involved in the budget analysis and regulatory returns.

Requirements:

• At least a 2.1 University degree
• Have between 6 to 12 months finance experience
• A-C's at A-Level
