Start your job searchA leading student accommodation business, based in the West End of London is currently looking to recruit for an Assistant Accountant. This is a unique opportunity for a junior finance professional to join an expanding and vibrant property development business. Roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Assisting with the month end close process and performing reconciliations
- Responsibility for the day-to-day input of financial transactions into SAGE accounting system
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Posting accounting entries to central booking system
- Reconciliation of sales ledger to central booking system
- Sales invoice and credit note generation
- Calculating customer refunds
- Liaising with operational staff and resolving finance issues
- Maintaining fixed asset register and preparing depreciation journals
- Checking the work of more junior accounting staff
- Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks as required
- Preparing and posting various month end journals including deferred revenue, prepayments and accruals
The successful candidate will be part qualified CIMA or ACCA and possess the drive and will to succeed. The ideal candidate will have at least a years of relevant experience, be hardworking, personable and focussed on progression and career goals; this is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company moving in the right direction, whilst developing your skills and experience.
