Business Analyst - Compliance - Sanctions

A Top Tier Bank is currently seeking a Business Analyst to join a team involved in the Transaction Screening Implementation programme. This exciting, London based opportunity ensures that Global Sanction screening policies are implemented effectively with minimum impact on the business and operations.

The candidates' responsibilities include:

  • Analyse and manage the impact of changing requirements.
  • Be a key contributor in the establishment of a first-class BAU sanctions screening team for the Group.
  • Have strong analytical, numeric and problem solving skills and experience of working within complex process environment.
  • Have knowledge or be prepared to develop a clear understanding of sanctions and the importance in ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Have the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Have experience within Risk areas (this is advantageous but not essential).
  • Have strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

The candidate suitability is determined by the following skills set and experience that are detailed bellow:

  • Good understanding of SWIFT messaging structures and concepts. (All SWIFT 15022 Categories [1-9] are relevant).
    • Operational exposure to at least some SWIFT Categories is essential.
    • As long as the concepts are understood, it is not essential to have experience in all MT's.
    • Knowledge of pseudo-SWIFT messaging would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of international sanctions concepts is essential.
  • Experience of transaction-based sanctions screening would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of a wide range of Markets and Commercial Banking transaction flows would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working with offshore business functions and development teams is desirable.
  • Proven track of working closely with key business users.
  • Experience of working with technology developers and testers.
