Business Development Director (ACA qualified) - Fund Administration

This established but growing fund administration business, with a focus on private equity, real estate and debt, is looking to add a Director of Business Development to head up their London office. The ideal candidate will have had experience of business development within the asset management industry but be from an accounting background. This is the ideal opportunity for a Senior Manager, AD or Director from a professional services firm who is looking to leverage off their network and knowledge in industry in a non accounting focussed role.

The company has a large presence in both Luxembourg and Jersey but they are now looking to grow their London business. With this in mind, they are not looking for a heavy handed 'sales-professional' and as such, unlike typical BD positions, the compensation will be split roughly 90/10 in terms of base and discretionary bonus.

The reason for this unusual sales package is to align incentives. They are not looking to grow as fast as possible, instead they are looking to scale at a pace that will not compromise quality of service and allow them to only work with the best possible clients. Furthermore, they would like this person to have a deep understanding and knowledge of their services; as such someone with an accounting qualification who has won business for a professional services firm would be a great fit.

The day to day of the role will involve:

  • Lead marketing and business development strategy for the business.
  • Create strategic business development plans for identified opportunities and ensure they are in line with the business' strategic direction.
  • Execution of BD plans including pitching and presenting to Senior Management level contacts within private equity, debt and real estate investment firms.
  • Develop high level relationships and subsequent partnerships.
  • Run, manage and implement key thought leadership plans targeted at raising external profile of the business on strategic campaigns.
  • Work with both the Client Relationship and Communications teams to identify and develop the company's revenue opportunities as well as USPs within the market
  • Prepare and present business reviews to the Senior Management team regarding progress and roadblocks

As mentioned, this is a rare and unique opportunity for a qualified, director level professional to move into the alternative investment space, in a non accounting focussed position but also in a business development position that is not hugely sales driven.

If you have relevant experience and would be interested in hearing more about the position, please do not hesitate to apply for a private and confidential discussion.
