Finance Analyst

A leading retail company are seeking a Finance Analyst to join a growing team. The role will start as a temporary 4 month contract with the chance of going permanent dependent on performance and growth within the company.

In this role you will be providing financial support and insights to IT tower owners, ensuring a smooth delivery of the month-end close including reporting and explanation of variances / results. The role also needs to support the Budget and forecast as well as Strategic multiyear plans for each of the IT cost categories: Resources, BAU, Depreciation and Projects

Duties/Skills:

• Establish processes for a smooth delivery of the month-end close and liaise with Business Services to ensure that all journal entries and accounting are accurately completed.
• Advanced financial modelling and insights to inform and support review of business functions. Provide and deliver analysis and insight that links financial reports to business strategies
• Lead the overall month end process across the IT Finance team, ensuring request and deadlines are clear among the BBS, Finance IT and business partners (PM, Tower owners, PMO)
• Prepare and review P&Ls and all financial reporting to ensure accuracy and presentation in line with business requirements (actuals, forecast, budget) for specific IT Towers.
• Provide the functions supported with strong budget management through the planning process. Special focus on the Portfolio demand and phasing of project spend and delivery.
• Complete, Coordinate, review and evaluate the development of plans, budgets & forecasts across IT towers (both regional and corporate cost), ensuring the most profitable allocation of resources through financial insights & constructive challenge.
• Supports the continuous improvement of planning, budgeting including rolling forecast.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of delivering change and driving improvements.
• Previous analytical experience.
• Business partnering background.
• Proven experience in retail or related industry
