Marks Sattin are pleased to be working in partnership with one of the UK's fastest growing energy providers, that are looking to expand their financial team to support the rapid growth of the business. Currently seeking an articulate, bright and driven individual as part of their finance team, this is an exciting opportunity for individuals to contribute to the overall commercial wellbeing of the business, as a finance analyst.

The business, whose ethos / office environment is similar to that of a tech start-up, places huge emphasis on securing the right character / profile for the business, with candidates being able to demonstrate:

  • A drive to grow within their role, and to grow alongside the business
  • Bright, intelligent and communicative nature
  • The ability to work as part of a team and integrate with other areas of the business

It is essential that individuals who are interested in this role, have experience working with, and can demonstrate proficiency with the programming platform Python, as well as have experience working with SQL. This is due to the majority of the work, operating on these platforms. Other than that, my client is open to background, providing that the individual has good knowledge of accounting functions and has worked within an analytical type finance role.

The successful candidate will be able to show competencies within:

  • The generation and presentation of gross margin numbers to be used for the preparation of both management and statutory accounts
  • Conduct variance analysis, comparing this to previously outlined budget
  • Produce detailed income schedules / creditor numbers / and reconcile the subsequent invoices
  • Business partner with Strategic Finance and Tech and Data Science teams to ensure the production of accurate forecast models
  • Undertake comprehensive reconciliation reports, relating to outstanding balances etc.
  • Undertake detailed analysis of budget in comparison to actual revenue across monthly / quarterly / yearly basis and utilise this to prepare annual budget and forecasts
  • Other ad hoc duties as required
