Finance Analyst

A leading Media company are seeking a Finance Analyst to join a growing team. The role will start as a temporary contract with the chance of going permanent dependent on performance and growth within the company.

In this position you will provide support to the manager with financial analysis and insight to drive Net Working Capital improvement. The role requires excellent analytical skills and ability to build confidence with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manager and Business Partner in their role supporting management teams / the business to drive and improve performance, through running and delivering routine and ad hoc analysis and reports, highlighting significant variances and areas for further attention and analysis for example revenue, net sales, order-book, pipeline and utilisation
  • Support the Manager with routine and ad-hoc reporting over the month-end results e.g. net working capital and aged debtors analysis
  • Run analysis to assist and provide support to Decision Support Manager in the evaluation of the service offering portfolio and mix e.g. service / product profitability
  • Run scenario analysis to support the Manager in setting strategies and business unit targets with the Business Partners e.g. competitor analysis
  • Support the Brand Controller and Decision Support Manager in gathering business input and create first drafts of budgets and forecasts, including supporting any reporting system submissions thereof e.g. in Cartesis
  • Assist in the review and consolidation of regional forecasts
  • Constantly looking at reporting improvements and additional analysis to provide insight across the business
  • Support the Manager in the production of reports and analysis to review the progress and achievement of any applicable bonus and commission schemes
  • Support the Manager to run preliminary rate card calculations and any restatements required
  • Support Manager with analysis that supports sales management and pricing
  • Provide Manager with analysis to assess job performance e.g. job / customer profitability
  • Prepare trend and variance analysis with preliminary explanations
  • Perform direct cost analysis and product cost analysis

Essential:

  • Self-awareness and relationship-building skills
  • High integrity and keen eye for accuracy that builds trust in analysis being provided
  • Accountable, delivers on promises and follows through on commitments even in challenging circumstances
  • 1-2 years of analyst or decision support roles
  • Degree level education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate or Intermediate to advance)
