A growing retail bank are looking to hire a number of key business partners within their Credit Card business. Having undergone a recent restructure there is now a requirement to grow the finance team. Under 4 separate areas of the business including Tech, Ops, Existing customers and New customer acquisitions. You will be expected to partner with the respective head of that area providing support and really own that business area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated support to the business
  • Delivers valued support to internal business customers, building constructive and effective partnerships
  • Providing first class business partnering to the decision making process in Projects
  • Driving effective financial control processes, insightful financial planning and value oriented support to the business
  • Providing strategic and financial expertise to drive the best decisions, maximising the return on resources and investment
  • Contributes to the forecasting cycle, including quarterly, annual, long-range plans and strategic business planning
  • Inputs to business cases that require Regional or Group ExCo approval. Monitors actual performance against business cases used for approval process and performs post investment appraisal on approved and implemented business cases
  • Reviews current processes, makes recommendations for improvements and ensures that these are fully implemented and reviewed, taking into account the effects of any change in reporting structure
  • Interprets financial data in an intelligent manner and produces summaries for the finance team and distribution to IT management and project managers
  • Reviews and reports on financial submissions and identifies any inconsistencies
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with the finance teams across the Group

Monthly Cycle

  • Preparation of detailed monthly MI pack for Head of Investments and Projects (and various cuts for other stakeholders) showing insightful information on costs and resources
  • Collect resource tracking and utilisation information from all stakeholders and collate into MI pack
  • Submit monthly project P&L summary
  • Submit monthly finance slide to all Steering Committees
  • Accounting for a number of projects. Monthly meetings with all Project Managers to discuss actual and forecast cost movements.
  • Responsibility for benefits tracking relative to business cases
  • Preparation of reports for inclusion in Steering Committee and Board packs and various other presentations which summarise financial information in relation to the projects

You will need to be a qualified accountant with a background in retail banking ideally with experience in he credit cards area. Please apply for a more detailed discussion around the role.
