Financial Accountant

Overview

This is a great opportunity to join a leading multi-asset class clearing house as a Financial Accountant within financial control. The Finance team the successful candidate would be part of is responsible for consolidated Group functions as well as the UK based business. The finance function is split in to three areas which are Financial Control, Business Partnering and the COO team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Financial Control team on cost accounting and monthly reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of the monthly close process for all UK/US based entities, including Group, Limited and LLC businesses; with especial reference to reconciliations and accruals postings
• Liaise with the business partnering team and the business functions to ensure costs are recorded accurately in the accounting records
• Deliver monthly cost reports as required
• Oversee payroll reconciliation matters within the Finance function; including reconciliation procedures; liaise with HR department as required to ensure processes embedded
• Provide support to the Financial Control team as required in respect of other general ledger postings
• Support the development and application of the departmental procedures manual
• Provide support and cover in respect of the fixed asset register. Project accounting and related postings
• Provide cover as required for the Head of Accounting and Operational Finance Manager
• Adhoc projects: support for current ongoing system project work and new strategic project initiatives
• Other ad hoc financial reporting processes as required

Experience and skills

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) or equivalent with relevant experience
• Financial Services experience desirable
• Good prior experience of monthly reconciliation routines
• Work efficiently to meet strict deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
