Marks Sattin have been instructed to recruit a new role on behalf of a major FMCG Brand with a world class reputation. The vacancy has arisen as current person has been promoted into a business partner role, this is something they will expect you to want to do within the next 18 months or so. The role offer full responsibility as Financial Controller for some of their major core brands in their portfolio

Responsibilities will be to ensure accurate financial reporting with 100% adherence to financial accounting and controls, ownership of year end and other audit processes, leading or working on key strategic projects, ownership of Working Capital and Cash Forecasting, to drive performance improvement and to promote a controls culture and business partnering with senior management. Support the development of the Payroll, AR, AP, Financial Accounting & Compliance and Accounting teams based at the Shared service Centre

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate production all periodic reporting within tight deadlines.
  • compliance to local GAAP/statutory and other local legal/regulatory requirements
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner. Clearly communicate periodic, quarterly, and annual financial information. Identify, assess, and communicate risks and opportunities affecting the financial statements and forecasts
  • Ensure policies and controls are continuously reviewed, maintained and policed. Lead control improvements and compliance management reporting
  • Responsible for the review of cash flow forecasting, treasury management and identifying issues and opportunities for cash generation.
  • Lead the Unit through periodic reviews of the metrics, feedback and agreement of the standardization agenda, of which you will be the local lead across AP, AR, Payroll.
  • Manage accounting system(s) to enable compliance with requirements and produce accurate and reliable financial reporting. Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, access, and controls can be managed within the system(s). Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and systems.
  • Continuous improvement both within the finance team and the wider business

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified accountant; perhaps you will be a Senior Associate/Assistant Manager from practice (Big 4/Top 10/Top 50/Independent firms all considered)or having relevant Balance Sheet related experience in industry with a previous background that demonstrates strong financial reporting exposure, along with experience of large ERP Systems (SAP/Oracle); Experience of Working capital management, cash and budget management; Experience of working with all levels of personnel across different functions; Ability to stand his/her ground; Drive and energy to exceed goals; Passion for detail but with vision of the bigger picture;
