Reporting to the Head of Services, a Financial Controller is required to join the commercial arm of a local authority in South London.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage the Finance and Retail function
• To provide financial analysis and insight into the operational activities of the business
• Provide strategic input, initiatives and support to the senior leadership
• Deliver effective internal and external financial performance reporting on a regular basis
• Managing the accounting and finance including consolidation and reporting, as well as reporting to the parent company and executive management
• Ensure a robust control and governance framework is in place

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Experience leading and managing a team
• Confident and capable at delivering presentations
• Contract driven experience - ability to negotiate and influence positive financial outcomes
• Ability to communicate financial information/concepts effectively to non-finance stakeholders
• Experience using SAGE is advantageous but not essential
