Start your job searchI am currently working with a leisure business who are growing and expanding their finance team. They are now looking for a Financial Controller on an interim to report to the CFO in regards to all financial and accounting activities and to oversee financial department staff in day-to-day operations. They are looking for an ACA/CA qualified accountant with interest within the leisure sector as well as some interest in legal issues. The company's main investments are based in France and Belgium, so they are looking for a fluent French speaking candidate with previous managerial experience in practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and high quality reports and presentations to deadline in line with group policy; including both routine and ad hoc reporting for review.
- Perform financial analysis; including Key Performance Indicators and ad-hoc analysis to support decision making.
- Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
- Identify, and drive to implementation, improvements to the management information, financial systems and decision making practices across the business.
- Liaise with international accountants to coordinate consolidated accounts and to deliver group compliance requests.
- Cash flow forecasting and budgetary control.
- Coordination and management of annual audit with external auditors.
- Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
- Meet statutory preparation and filing deadlines, ensuring the company correctly complies with all taxation legislations, including employment taxes, VAT, and Corporation Tax.
- Business partnering and explaining accounting issues and strategies with non finance heads of departments
- Development of the finance team whilst ensuring strong succession paths
- Report to the CFO with timely and accurate financial information
- Assist the CFO in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.
Key Requirements
- Qualified Accountant. Must be ACA/CA.
- Must be French speaking
- Previous experience within the leisure/hospitality industries
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and challenge senior contacts
- Strategic planning and analytical abilities
- Proactive with keeping up to date with IFRS and statutory requirements
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
