Financial Controller - Egham, Surrey

Marks Sattin's Surrey Office are happy to working in partnership with a fantastic organisation, who specialise in business accounting consultancy and advisory services, providing strategic and operational finance expertise across a growing portfolio of UK and International businesses, with a specific focus on tech organisations. This position has arisen due to client base expansion, calling for an established, qualified accountant to provide Financial Controller services to a portfolio of clients.

The Role:

• You will be responsible for the account management of a portfolio of clients varying in size and complexity - Developing, maintaining and growing your relationships with clients; whilst providing commercial and professional financial information that will support/drive their businesses
• Monthly Reporting - You will be responsible for the monthly reporting for your portfolio, providing, management accounts review, key analysis and presentation, maintain budget process with variance/review, cash flow and profit forecasting, commercial insights, along with any other AD Hoc support
• Team Management - You will maintain and support the onsite processing teams with training and development, along with ensuring timely and accurate outputs, and utilizing and developing your in office team, who will be at your disposal to support you meet the client's needs and expectations.
• Monthly Review - You will ensure all monthly deliverables are met, or at least reviewed with a deliverable timeframe in place. This will often include, compliance process (VAT, Tax, PAYE), validation of balance sheet, payroll delivery, maintain key dates calendar, and always ensure you are building/maintaining your clients relationships with their external partners.
• Year-end Duties - You will manage the production of the statutory accounts for clients, oversee the audit process dealing with any queries, along with ensuring the tax compliance process is managed, liaising with tax advisers as necessary.

The Candidate:

• You will be a fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, CIMA), with a strong educational background, and ideally a good degree
• You will come from a fast paced environment within practice or a technology focused industry - But will review on a case by case basis
• Previous Financial Controller experience or Finance Manager with suitable experience looking to step up
• Previous exposure of preparing statutory accounts, financial reporting with regulatory requirements, and supporting a team are all essential to this role
• You will be an exceptional communicator, whom has confidence in their ability to influence, sell, and build strong working relationships
• You will be commercially astute with the ability to spot opportunity, ensuring your portfolio is supported and receiving all the services that they require
• You will have exceptional systems skills, and the ability to pick things up at pace
• Able to travel to client sites
• You will be highly driven, portraying commercial awareness, resilience, and the ability to work to deadlines, with an overall aim of developing in an all-round financial/accounting consultancy role - paving the way to Finance Directorship
