An exciting opportunity has arisen for a FP&A Accountant for a leading organisation in Doncaster.

My client is looking for an experience accountant who has a strong commercially focused background in a fast paced environment. The organisation is going through a sustained period of growth and so they are after someone who wants to progress and accept the successful candidate may use this role as stepping stone into an external Commercial FC role in the future. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial advice and analysis to buying, develop effective cross-functional working relationships to drive the financial, operational and strategic direction of the relevant business function as well as ensuring that robust controls are in place to maintain integrity of commercial decisions, and for providing commercial insight to support business planning and forecasting.

The role will involve:

• Continuously develop rigorous controls and processes and ensure these are in place to safeguard business assets and maintain the integrity of financial data and reporting, and that these are adhered to. Ensure robust procedures and controls are in place over rebate recognition and subsequent cash collection. Challenging any unusual trends or activity
• Produce management information within the required timescales, including Business Review and Board packs, KPIs, dashboards, trackers and forecasts
• Provide robust and timely financial reporting and advice to aid strategic decision making, and drive best allocation of resources
• Review trends and challenge current performance, identifying risks and opportunities within the finance department and the wider business
• Provide a support service to other Finance areas and with the wider business through the appraisal and analysis of financial performance and the implementation of best practice

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and have the relevant academic or professional qualification, e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent as well as:

• Part or Newly Qualified Accountant with a commercial background.
• Proven experience in a large FMCG/Engineering/Manufacturing environment desirable.
• Experience of cross functional working.
• Experience in operating in a commercial environment.
• Excellent Excel and analytical skills with an ability to manipulate complex data sets.
• Demonstrate an ability to operate in a complex financial reporting environment, and provide innovative financial solutions.
• Ability to make decisions, prioritise and good attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, in order to effectively engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders at all levels within the Company.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and problem-solving skills, with adaptability and perseverance to ensure any issues are resolved.
