One of the fastest-growing private equity real estate firms is hiring a Group Financial Controller to be responsible for their European operations.

This firm has grown from strength to strength since entering the London/European market in the early 2000s with a property portfolio into the billions across major European countries and several asset classes.

The Group Financial Controller is an essential hire as the role carries with it significant responsibility in leading and delivering financial reporting concerning their real estate portfolio.

You will work with two direct reports (geographically based Financial Controllers) to manage a team of accountants and a wide range of third-party service providers in providing strong financial control of several legal entities operating in multiple jurisdictions across Europe.

· Owning the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process to ensure successful and on-time delivery of financial reporting

· Consolidating results, including the delivery of monthly management accounts to senior management

· Ongoing people management of the financial reporting team, including ensuring adequate resourcing is in place and new employees are successfully onboarded

· Overseeing the running of various audit engagements with the external auditor, ensuring all audit requests are delivered promptly

· Preparing annual IFRS consolidated financial statements for the group

· Taking responsibility for managing the annual compliance programme working closely with externally appointed advisors to ensure the maintenance of a strong financial control environment

· Building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including investment partners, and senior management across Europe and the US

· Assisting in financial system improvement projects aimed at streamlining finance processes and further enhancing financial reporting capabilities

Person Specification:

· Excellent communicator who is confident and able to interact at all levels within an organisation

· Well organised with a proven ability to plan and stay organised

· Strong ability to build interpersonal relationships

· Demonstrates a high level of professionalism

· Has a mindset of looking for ways to improve the process constantly

Key skill requirements:

· ACA/ACCA qualified with a minimum of five years PQE in a fund / SPV controllership/reporting role

· At least two years of people management experience

· Strong working knowledge of IFRS (essential) and US GAAP (desirable), and experience in consolidation accounting

· Advanced Excel skills alongside an analytical mindset

· Commercially minded demonstrating an ability to interpret financial information

· Experience in the property investment sector working for a Fund Manager or Property Investment Company
