A pan-uk organisation within the logistics space is looking for an Information Architect for an initial 5 month contract to be based in Canary Wharf.
The main remit of the role will be to develop an overarching information and data architecture, including structures, standards, policies and models, to ensure it understands its information and can manage it effectively through the life of the large programme of work it is undertaking
Responsibilities
- Develop an information model and ensure it is aligned with strategy (and other) needs
- Ensure the information model is integrated with wider business and technology architectures
- Define modelling and analysis tools, methods and standards and seek to continually improve themAdvise stakeholders on improvements to information support to gain improvements to their business
- Identify opportunities for data quality improvement and implementing processes for master data management.
- Understand and assure data operations across the organisation such as data interfaces within the programme - an expert and in-depth knowledge of data received, consumed, processed and produced
- Active engagement in information governance to review, approve, communicate and ensure adherence to the Information and Data Strategy
- Support information management colleagues delivering data analytics and other key information capabilities
- Work closely with the Information Assurance team to ensure the company's information is managed safely, securely and legally
- Gate keeper for data standards and practices across multiple projects, facilitate workshops with other architects within the programme
- Define requirements for data standards and ensure they are developed by appropriate teams
- Ensure necessary capabilities (people, process, technology) are in place to deliver and operate data standards and manage master data
Skills required:
- Proven experience as an Architect
- Experience and understanding of defining and building information/data models to provide a full understanding of data and expose relevant issues, risks and opportunities
- Experience or clear understanding of information/data modelling in the context of overall IT architecture
- Experience of working in large, complex organisations with multiple data requirements
- Knowledge of how information and data are used to support delivery of business outcomes
- Ability to define data requirements to support business change.
- Ability to work and communicate with stakeholders both business and IT specialists, at all levels of the organisation
- Ability to plan and implement delivery of high quality solutions to problems
- Ability to explain and communicate complex technical issues in a way that non-specialists can understand
