IT / Applications Manager - Middle / Back Office - up to £90k

Global energy trading company is looking for a Middle / Back Office Manager to be based out of its impressive central London offices.

The main remit of the role will be to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of a London-based team involved in all parts of the application lifecycle (analysis, design, testing, post go live support and maintenance) within a Commodity / Energy Trading and Risk Management environment. This team is mainly made up of Business Analysts but also includes other technical resources such as Testers.

The Middle / Back Office IT Manager will watch over the preservation of the quality of the services provided by its team and the continuous improvement of it. The system landscape includes commercial ETRM packages such as OpenLink Endur and Trayport Gateway.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate a team made of business analysts, providing oversight of all the activities the team is involved in.
  • Make sure assigned activities are delivered to timeline, required quality and desired outcomes.
  • Provide continuous input to the company's program plan of ICT implementations, in collaboration with the Program Manager.
  • Participate in projects and application maintenance activities, where opportunity and need arises.
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are maintained.

Skills & Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in delivering ETRM / CTRM solutions.
  • Proven track record of leading technology teams within a trading / commodities environment
  • Project management experience using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Good coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to perform in a high availability, deadline oriented environment.
  • Pragmatic and hands-on.
  • Effective communication: ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Ability to take proactive steps in managing problems.
  • Understanding of the energy sector and trading markets.
