Our client is a large life assurance investment provider across multiple countries - they are currently seeking an experienced Compliance Officer/MLRO to join their Risk and Regualtion team based in Ireland. This person will act as Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer, and Data Protection Officer for our client in their Dublin entity. The successful candidate will provide compliance oversight, assurance, and advice to all relevant business areas including relevant Boards; ensuring that all regulatory developments, risks, and reports are considered and presented. This person will also act as the main regulatory contact for all relevant regulators and/or statutory bodies, maintaining open and positive regulatory relationships.

Duties will include:

  • Responsible for analysing and ensuring effective compliance with relevant Rules, Regulations, and Guidance including, but not limited to relevant provisions of the Companies Act 2014, and those emanating from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) as they affect the functions of the organisation
  • Ensuring that regulatory developments are appropriately monitored, reviewed, and relevant stakeholders receive relevant notification and guidance of the same.
  • Keeping host state regulations and legislation's under review (with input from Product Law as required) ensuring that recommendations as approved by the Board are implemented and monitored
  • Reviewing and providing responses to applicable consultations (with input from Product Law and the Chief Risk Officer as required)
  • Providing advice and consultancy to the business, ensuring that any necessary procedural and system changes are effected.
  • Providing an annual report to the Board of Directors on the findings of the audits and any risks to the company.
  • Driving the development of an anti-fraud culture within the organisation

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience of working as CBI - PCF 15 - Compliance Officer & Money Laundering Reporting Officer
  • Have a regulatory qualification (e.g. ICA, LCOI etc) and previous proven experience working in a Compliance and Risk role within the financial services industry, preferably within the life assurance sector
  • Act as Data Protection Officer
  • Proactively develop and maintains knowledge of industry themes and best practice which is shared with relevant stakeholders
  • Promote a positive compliance and risk aware culture
