PART-TIME FINANCIAL CONTROLLER (2 days)

My client is an award winning property company based in central Leeds. Forging an excellent reputation as one of the most accomplished and effective developers of its kind in the region, they currently have three major sites situated on prime real estate areas across Yorkshire.

Due to the incumbent Financial Controller relocating, the opportunity has arisen for a qualified Accountant to take ownership of the entire accounts function.

In this position you will have responsibility for the management of the financial and management accounting and reporting functions and internal controls, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, regulations and government filings. The role offers you the freedom to improve processes where you see fit, working in close collaboration with the non-executive director who's background is senior finance positions.

To be successful in your application, you should be comfortable having the following responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all Financial Accounting functions and compliance with corporate policies
  • Coordinate the period end close and preparation of the management accounts
  • Preparation of the financial budgets and forecasts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow with detailed supporting schedules and commentary
  • Preparation of prepayment and accruals
  • Preparation and payment of monthly payroll
  • Submission of the following HMRC reports; VAT, P46, P11D, CIS and Corporation Tax and Intrastat returns
  • Preparation of all Statutory accounts
  • Assist external auditors during the annual review process
  • Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of financial and accounting records
  • Ensuring appropriate financial controls and procedures are put in place and adhered to throughout the business
  • Day to day management of accounts payable and payroll, including managing and monitoring payments
  • Continuous improvement of reporting, systems and processes
  • Liaison with the Board

The Financial Controller opportunity also offers flexibility with when the '2 days' are completed. This can be spread over 3 days if necessary and can change week to week to work around your needs.
