Working within the Portfolio/Programme Management Office the role will largely be assisting the PMO Manager and Project Managers across Technology and the Business in maintaining, analysing and collating documentation relating to our Portfolio projects and Programmes - stage gate governance, risk and issues management, dependencies, project planning and reporting.
The role-holder should be experienced with working in complex project and programmes environments and is comfortable working with best practice templates, standard project management methodologies and techniques.
- Support the project managers through the Project Gate lifecycle to track and report on progress and assist Support the Project Managers to create, update and track critical paths, milestones and all elements of project planning.
- Work with Project Managers on the identifying, documenting and tracking of inter and intra-project/programme dependencies
- Support the PMO team to maintain the consolidated resourcing schedule
- Analyse project and business community status reports and produce progress summary reports/KPIs for key programme stakeholder
- Working with the PMO Manager and Project Managers, ensuring the templates and processes are maintained and refreshed to ensure they are relevant and support effective portfolio delivery
Skills required;
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organised and efficient working practices
- Knowledge of Prince2 methodology
- Experience of working within Project/Programme environment
- Comfortable using Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft packages, especially Excel, MS Project and PowerPoint.
- Able to collate lots of information into concise reports - verbal and written
- Professional attitude and tact for dealing with stakeholders of all levels as an ambassador for PMO office
- Attention to detail is essential
