Purchase ledger clerk

  • Position: Purchase Ledger
  • Location: Trafford Park
  • Salary: £18000- £21000 plus an excellent company benefit package
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week

The Company:

A renowned market leader of a well known specialist product is currently looking to recruit a management accountant to join the busy accounts function, this exciting role would suit a qualified candidate looking to take ownership of a number of subsidiaries, looking to making a real impact on the business.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Start Asap this deal with back log and system implantation project
  • Ensure all invoices received are registered accurately onto the PIR system
  • Organise all invoices, to be approved for payment by relevant department/managers, to be checked and verified in line with the business unit's authority level agreement
  • Match invoices to GRNs and purchase orders using SMS or an offline data set to confirm price and quantity are correct
  • Liaise with the reporting team for accurate GL coding of all non-system generated approved invoices (manual posting)
  • Assist with managing and maintenance of credit card / petty cash expenditure, assist with the month end analysis and journal preparation.
  • Assist with internal recharge invoices, collating sufficient supporting documentation and distributing to various intercompany ledgers.
  • Assist with supplier reconciliations and help resolve invoice queries (internal and external) promptly to ensure invoices are paid in accordance with the agreed terms
  • Prepare financial documents for archiving, transfer into storage whilst maintaining the internal tracker with accurate folder location
  • Assist with the preparation of weekly payments runs, posting and allocation to the supplier accounts
  • General assistance in the SSC finance department with any ad hoc duties where required.

Requirements:

  • JD Edwards experience NEEDED!!
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to hit the ground running straight away
  • Previous experience in a commercial role
  • Come from a fast paced background
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
