Reporting Accountant

Manufacturing business - Huddersfield

I am currently working with a well-established, global manufacturing business in Huddersfield to appoint their next Reporting Accountant. The role will be very well suited to a technically strong Accountant. You must be fully qualified and in return will have the pleasure of being part of a fun and friendly finance team, a flexible attitude to working hours and an extremely supportive Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the Finance Manager, working alongside the Senior Finance team. This is a role where you will be able to both crunch numbers and also add value, offer advice and provide recommendations across the business.
  • Ownership and responsibility for month end reporting
  • Responsibility and submission for all notes management, ownership of data uploads and functional reporting for month end reporting. This will include all relevant commentary of balance sheet and profit and loss account thereon as required by Group
  • Submission of management files
  • Ownership of the G&A, other expenses and income and FX lines within the P&L including FX maintenance and valuation. This will include explaining key variances against both budget and forecast
  • Ownership, preparation and reconciliation of all balance sheet reconciliations for the non-standard accruals and prepayment accounts, fixed assets and leases
  • VAT returns - ownership of the submission of the group VAT return Short, medium and long term cash flow planning
  • Ownership and reporting of fixed assets in line with Group IFRS and local GAAP
  • Capex and fixed asset reporting. This will include responsibility of the fixed asset register and asset verification
  • Supporting the year end audit process and statutory accounts preparation

Requirements

  • Graduate degree qualification
  • Qualified - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to achieve the required outcomes
  • Ideally experience with SAP or other similar business and sales reporting systems
  • Self-motivated and a good communicator is essential
  • Ability to drive change and work flexibly
  • Be an effective team player
