EP UK was established in 2014 as the platform for expanding the EPH group into the UK Energy Market. EPUKI has grown rapidly in the UK having acquired 3 power generating assets between 2014 and 2017 and has recently agreed the acquisition of a further 2 assets in Ireland, with completion expected in the summer 2019.
It has a trading office and business development office in London and a centralised support office in Yorkshire. EPH is an operations-orientated investor with a strong background in pursuing growth opportunities across the energy sector. With more than 50 companies across 6 countries, and 25,000 employees, EPH have established a solid track record of continued organic and acquisitive growth.
With a significant, operating platform in the UK, EPUKI's strategic focus is to establish a tier 1 position in the UK power generation market. The UK team has the objective of achieving substantial further growth, through acquisitions and investment in construction of new build generation assets
Overview
- Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role has key responsibility for developing policy, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and tax legislation.
- Protecting and enhancing value through providing a strong control environment.
- Responsible for banking, payments and receipts of ~£250m p.a. as well as legal and regulatory returns.
- Accountable to the Head of Finance for developing Company or Departmental policies and strategies and leading the implementation of these to meet agreed targets.
- Authority/accountability for expenditure up to the limit specified by the Delegations of Authority. Approve requisitions to the value specified in the Delegations of Authority.
- Leading a team of 2-4 individuals.
Month End
- Manage the month end timetable and process, coordinating inputs from Commercial Finance Teams.
- Manage month end control processes, including review meetings and BS reconciliation sign off processes.
- Review performance vs budget, challenge and query results with the Commercial Finance Teams.
- Prepare a group management accounts pack for internal reporting. Including P&L variance analysis vs budget and forecast, key KPI tracking, BS and cashflow analysis.
Audit
- Manage the year end audit process.
- Be the key contact between the business and the auditors.
- Be responsible for the statutory accounts preparation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards across the group
Controls
- Be responsible for maintaining/improving the controls framework around financial accounting
- Document finance processes and procedures and work with finance team to create consistency
- Operational Accounting
- Manage the Accounts Payable, Cash and Account Receivable function.
- Ensure compliance with supplier payment terms.
- Ensure compliance with group DOA matrix.
- Review and manage cash balances.
SAP system lead
- Be responsible for the use of the SAP system
- Work with the IT team and SAP System Analyst to improve functionality and reporting
- Ensure finance team members and wider business users are trained on SAP.
Management
- Manage a team of 2-4 individuals
- Coach and develop junior team members
- Completing month end creditor reconciliations.
- Responsible for managing and clearing down aged creditors.
- Coach and develop junior team members
- Build consistency in reporting
- Other finance tasks as and when required.

Qualifications
- Finance qualification ideally ACA or ACCA or equivalent, ideally with +4 years PQE.
