Start your job searchA leading services business based in Luton is looking for an experience SQL DBA to join their growing team. You will be a key member of the Infrastructure & Operations team and will be responsible for supporting the legacy MS SQL Servers and the migration to a new Enterprise Class SQL estate.
Responsibilities
- Migration of legacy SQL servers 2005 to a new Enterprise Class SQL estate 2012.
- Management, administration, availability, performance and improvement of the SQL databases
- Implementation and release management of database changes
- Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases are configured correctly and to ensure high resilience and performance tuning
- Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services
- Provide trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management and capacity planning
- Participate in load and performance testing
- Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in a timely manner
To be considered you must have a minimum of 3 years DBA experience in a sizeable environment in the region of 2,000-5000 users. You must also have hands on experience of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - 2014. Candidates with Azure SQL database experience will also be preferred. A good understating of capacity planning and a working knowledge of disaster recovery in an enterprise environment are also essential.
