We are partnering with our global retail client on the appointment of a Tax Accountant for their Head Office in Southampton.

Reporting to the Tax Manager, the core responsibilities include the completion of all aspects of direct and indirect tax compliance for the Group companies, and to assist the business with tax related advisory matters when they arise.

You will be responsible for PAYE and supporting global mobility PAYE compliance, preparation of the UK VAT returns and providing VAT advice to the business, the stores and external customers. You will have the opportunity to prepare UK comps, budgets, forecasts and other corporate tax compliance; and responsible for all financial reporting regarding the tax balances. You will also get involved with Transfer Pricing, deferred tax and assist with controlling the risk of legislation and system changes.

The successful candidate will likely hold an accounting qualification in addition to the CTA. We are keen to hear from candidate's with hands on exposure across a broad range of taxes (such as Corporate and VAT) but direct experience of PAYE is required as it's a key area that requires some dedicated resource. You will need to demonstrate a commercial appreciation of the wider taxes and have the desire and ability to learn the basics through on-the-job training.
