The purpose of the Financial Reporting Accountant role…
You will be responsible for consolidating financial information from across the Group and using this to prepare monthly management information and quarterly statutory information for external reporting purposes ensuring that all output is high quality, robust and in compliance with applicable accounting standards. You will also lead the analysis of financial performance, particularly with regards to costs, and highlight opportunities to the business.
Key role responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Accountant are to…
* Prepare consolidated management information and reports for the executive board on a monthly basis
* Provide a robust review of monthly reporting submissions from subsidiaries, including cost performance
* Own the cost reporting system and work with overseas finance teams to produce high quality cost reporting analysis, along with managing changes required to the system
* Support the analysis of revenue and impairment trends across the Group, assisting market teams and highlighting potential areas of concern in performance
* Own the statutory consolidation prepared on a monthly basis, along with supporting analysis
* Work with the Group tax team to agree the consolidated tax journals
* Prepare the Group financial statements, which includes working as part of the team responsible for the overall publication of the financial statements (including investor relations and company secretarial)
* Prepare interim financial information for external reporting purposes
* Assist the investor relations team in the preparation of analyst presentations
* Assist the Group treasury team to support funding requirements
* Keep up to date with key accounting developments ensuring they are appropriately disclosed in the Group
* Provide assistance to subsidiary finance teams on technical accounting matters
* Work with external auditors throughout the year to ensure appropriate accounting policies are being applied and delivering a clean audit opinion as a result
* Ensure the Financial Reporting team's compliance with the Group's control framework
* Manage internal and external stakeholders ensuring that output matches their requirements and expectations
To apply for the Newly Qualified Financial Reporting Accountant role, the successful candidate will have…
* A full, recognised professional accountancy qualification (ACA preferred) and experience of working with IFRS
* Excellent knowledge of recent accounting developments (IFRS)
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels, both internally and externally
* The ability to be flexible and manage workload effectively to ensure that tight deadlines are achieved
* Strong analysis and numeracy skills to make correct inferences and decisions along with ability to present complicated information and analysis in a non-technical manner
* The drive to continuously learn and develop
* An understanding of financial controls and related systems
* Excellent written, verbal and spoken English
