Head of Data Protection / Data Privacy required for leading UK online retail business - As Head of Data Protection you will be leading and developing the firm's Data Protection Framework. Working for this FTSE 250 you will guide all sectors of the organisation ensuring protection of all clients and employees information and be instrumental in installing a compliance framework giving expert advice on complex data privacy decisions, embed consistency in approaching and enhance reporting and governance.

Roles and Responsibilities;

  • Documentation and implementation of the GDPR Compliance Programme
  • Advise, Implement and carry out data governance measures embedding privacy through organisation acting as subject matter expert to legal department.
  • Monitor compliance, policies and procedures supporting business
  • Ability to carry out DPIA if required and methodology and subject matter expertise in Data Protection Impact Assessment.
  • What safeguards (including technical and organisational measures) to apply to mitigate any risks to the rights and interests of the data subjects
  • Maintain the record of processing operations (under the responsibility of the controller) as one of the tools enabling compliance monitoring and inform and advise the controller or the processor as appropriate

Success Profile;

  • In depth understanding of National and European data protection laws and GDPR
  • In depth understanding of information technologies and data security
  • Possess integrity, professional ethics and experience in managing risks and enforcing company-wide standards
  • Previous experience in retail business sector
  • Previous experience embedding data protection culture into organisations
  • Previous experience handling sensitive/ personal data confidentially and in a professional manner
  • CIPP/E or ISEB Essential
  • GDPR (Practitioner), PDP, CRISC, IAPP, CIPP, CIPM, CISM, CISA, CISO, CISSP knowledge Certification
  • Experience as Head of Data Protection, Head of Data Privacy, Data Protection Officer, DPO, Data Protection Consultant, Data Protection Manager, Data Protection Director, Information Governance Officer, Information Governance Manager, Information Governance Consultant, Information Compliance Officer, Information Compliance Manager, Information Compliance Consultant, GDPR Consultant, GDPR Programme Manager, GDPR Project Manager, GDPR SME, GDPR Programme Lead
