Start your job searchAn excellent opportunity for a real estate finance professional at the Fund Controller / Head of level to step into a Head of Finance role for a rapidly growing real estate fund.

The opportunity is Head of Finance for a real estate fund reporting into a CFO and leading a small team. The firm are well placed in their specialist asset class where investor appetite remains strong.
The CFO is from a corporate finance background and is looking for a solid senior finance professional to compliment their skills. Your responsibilities will assume responsibility for the finance function he numbers and heavily involved in transactions and capital markets financing. The view is this person would become the FD in circa 18-24 months' time and the current CFO would take on more of a strategic role in the business.
Team Leader
- Role reports into Chief Financial Officer, but also has responsibility for a team of three that report into Head of Finance
- Joint responsibility for development and management of this team
- Leading interaction with key investor counterparts within the relevant finance teams
Accounting
- Oversight of outsourced accounting team to ensure correct capture of transactions and day-to-day business operations across portfolio entities (UK, Guernsey, Luxembourg and Poland)
- Oversight of preparation and review of Monthly/ Quarterly Management accounts for joint venture entities
- Oversight of preparation and review of statutory accounts by relevant administrators and accounting team
- Oversight of preparation and review of Group management accounts
- ead the production of quarterly Board Packs and investor reporting
- Running annual audit process of companies, joint venture structures and discretionary Fund,
leading the team interaction with auditors throughout
- Maintenance of Companies House Records for companies * Production of cashflow actuals/budgets
- Mark to Market investment appraisal
Tax
- Overseeing the preparation and reviewing local tax applications and filings in conjunction with relevant tax advisers in the UK, Guernsey, Luxembourg and Poland
- Overseeing the preparation and reviewing VAT returns and filings (in conjunction with relevant tax advisers)
- UK Corporation tax returns and review (in conjunction with relevant tax advisers) * CIS returns (in conjunction with relevant tax advisers)
Treasury
- End to end oversight and prudent management of all cash in the structures
- Approval of invoices via invoice management system
- Reviewing payments and, where necessary, uploading into relevant systems for payment * Bank account review and cash forecasting
- Rent account review and sweep (with assistance from property managers)
- Development actual to budget variance review
- Review of monthly payroll from external payroll specialist
Debt
- Working closely with existing and new lenders regarding existing and prospective loan facilities
- Checking and preparing interest and hedging notifications
- Leading the quarterly debt covenant compliance reporting
- Forecasting covenant compliance
Transactions
- Assisting with the due diligence and structuring processes
- Liaising with investors, accountants and administrators to ensure funding and drawdowns
effected correctly, as well as capturing opening balances, etc
Property costings/budgets vs actuals
- Lead preparation of funds flows and completion accounts/statements * Transaction bible sourcing/ maintenance
