IT Infrastructure Engineer - Luton

Pan-UK organisation is currently looking to hire an IT Infrastructure Engineer to be based out of its Luton headquarters.

The main remit of the role is to be responsible for the security, capacity, and availability of all data centre and corporate IT infrastructure such as hypervisors, servers, storage, network switches, as well as core services such as Internet access, remote access, email, file, print and telephony.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that infrastructure and core services are available during agreed operating hours
• Ensure that data and systems are backed up and can be recovered, even in a disaster
• Ensuring that all IT infrastructure assets are managed appropriately, are within policy and remain secure
• Proactive monitoring of infrastructure and core services
• Resolving incidents, and completing job related activity as necessary, in and out of hours, exempt from overtime
• Producing performance, availability and capacity reports for IT infrastructure and core services
• Supporting, monitoring, and reporting, the security, capacity, and availability of all data centre and corporate IT infrastructure;
• Maintaining, the security, capacity, and availability of all data centre and corporate IT infrastructure
• Creation and maintenance of IT infrastructure processes, and documentation
• Minimising the impact of changes to operations through robust change management
• Maintain technical relationship with suppliers

Experience

• IT vendor certifications such as MCSE/MCP
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven track record in a similar Infrastructure role
• Extensive technical grounding in all aspects of infrastructure
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure technologies
