The job holder is responsible for the end to end payroll service for c700 employees across the UK and Internationally. Responsible for timely and accurate and compliant payrolls, improving end to end process, driving quality customer service and providing analysis and reporting where needed or requested. In addition, the responsibilities include processing employee data, producing HR-related reports and ensuring compliance with relevant local and national regulations.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Continued development of the appropriate governance structures, controls and business process required to mitigate risk and to provide a payroll function which is sustainable and fit for future.
- To process monthly payrolls including (but not limited to):
- Liaising with employees and suppliers regarding payroll related queries
- Calculating statutory payments i.e. SMP, SSP
- Processing month end and year end information
- Processing HMRC forms i.e. P45, P60
- Processing associated benefit schemes i.e. pension, healthcare, childcare vouchers etc
- Reconciliation and uploading of pension contributions to the relevant portals to generate payment. Resolving pension queries and carrying out of statutory changes such as re-enrolment.
- Liaising with the Finance department on payments that need to be made such as HMRC, childcare vouchers, CSA
- To ensure all payrolls are completed accurately within the pre-defined timescales
- Ensuring accurate payroll/benefit records and systems are maintained
- Manage benefits
- Act as first point of contact for managers, employees and suppliers in relation to payroll and benefit issues
- Main point of contact for Tax (and other similar) authorities
- Ensuring that all European declarations are submitted on time
- Introducing best practices to ensure that all employees are on boarded efficiently especially in the European Countries where individual tax requirements must be met
- Provide information, reports and data in line with company policy and data protection
- Assisting the CFO in reviewing policies and procedures in relation to the payroll service
- Maintain, and when appropriate amend written procedures as necessary
- To assist the CFO with projects in line with the departmental plan
- Ensure confidentiality of information is maintained at all times
Key Performance Standards:
- All payrolls processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Payments made in line with SLA's
- All legal compliance activities conducted as required (country specific)
- Audits (and pre-audits) conducted in a timely manner and to the required level
