Start your job searchMarks Sattin are pleased to be partnering with a fast growing industry leader within the Professional Services Arena, who are currently recruiting for a Finance Manager to join their HQ based in Birmingham City Centre.
The Role:
To support the Finance Director in delivering a robust, reliable and insightful finance function specifically taking full responsibility for management accounts and underlying accounting entries. To act as line manager for the Finance Assistant responsible for all transactional functions. To support the Finance Director with the business partnering activity across multiple projects. Based out of their offices in Birmingham this is a stand alone position covering both offices in the Midlands and London.
General Accounting Responsibilities:
- Management of day to day accounting records, systems and governance
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and responsible for generating monthly management information packs
- Preparation of regular cash flow forecast
- Review and approval of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Review and approval of quarterly VAT returns
- Liaison with external auditors as part of annual accounts production and review
- Preparation, submission and subsequent review of monthly payroll details to external payroll bureau (in conjunction with HR)
- Management of the annual budget cycle and quarterly forecasts
Project Finance Responsibilities:
- Business partnering with the key stakeholders and project teams by providing and interpreting project financial information
- Support the Finance Director in monthly finance reviews
- Management of the forecasts and potential pipeline
- Monthly management of the actual costs with the project resource planners
Skills
- Either PQ CIMA/ACCA or Newly Qualified
- A highly trustworthy individual is required for this role
- Excellent communication is a must
- Flexibility and an innovative approach to work would be highly desirable
- Excellent Excel skills are important, together with a desire to learn and develop in this area, driving continuous improvement in efficiency
- Experience in project accounting would be highly beneficial
- Experience of working in smaller organisations would be beneficial but not essential
- Previous experience of managing staff would be useful but not essential
