Reporting to the Finance Director, the role would ideally suit a qualified (ideally ACA or ACCA) accountant with strong technical and analytical skills (including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel), together with experience of working within a group environment (construction and / or manufacturing experience is desired but not essential). The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate that they are a progressive thinker who can drive improvements in the company’s reporting processes and internal control procedures. This role will appeal to an accountant who likes a ‘hands on’ position as it will involve significant communication and analysis of all business areas and processes. The role will also provide the successful applicant with opportunities for development with the Group.

You will be assisting the Finance Director in the preparation of the company’s reporting including:

* Monthly management accounts and variance analysis for submission to both the Company’s board of directors and the Group finance team for incorporation in the Group’s consolidated accounts
* Monthly cash forecasting and reporting
* Quarterly profit forecasting
* Annual budget including setting of departmental budgets with assistance for departmental heads and monitoring of those costs
* Annual published IFRS statutory financial statements

Key responsibilities include:

* Deputise for the Finance Director when required
* Improve the financial processes and procedures required to support the development of the business including improving internal control process and procedures
* Development of KPI reporting and the production and interpretation of management information across the business
* Improve the quality of the financial information, drive systems development and develop procedures to improve the quality of information available
* Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required by the company’s board and group finance team
* Liaising with finance teams from other Group companies
* Liaising with auditors, bankers and external advisors
